Ravenscroft, Edward James. A Descriptive Account of Hardy Coniferous Trees Cultivated in Great Britain. First and only edition with 48 hand colored lithographs, three volumes, folio, Edinburgh and London, 1863-84.

The only edition of the third of the great coniferous iconographies. The text, which was edited by Charles Lawson, was compiled by Ravenscroft, with descriptions by J. Lindley, Andrew Murray, and Mawell T. Masters. The plates, of which 32 are botanical depictions, and the remaining 16 delightful decorative views were drawn by W. Richardson, J. Black, R.K. Greville, and J. Wallace.
